Getting lost in the heart of Madrid

Legend has it that long, long ago, a knight stopped to quench his thirst at this iconic tavern. His admiration for the place was so ardently etched in his memory, and after many wanderings along life’s paths, he spoke of it to anyone who would listen. He spoke of the “wonderful wines” that delighted his palate, the “extraordinary cuisine” that satiated his hunger, and the natural magic that managed to enchant him.

At the end of his long journey, he decided to return there and stay forever… Its colorful tiles, its high ceilings, its carved columns, its red facade, its centuries-old lamps, the mirror that adorns the place, rescued from an old ruined tavern on Trafalgar Street in 1909, all this beauty tells us that we are in a typical Madrid tavern.

A place where past history blends with the present. Where every citizen of the world finds their place! And the knight-errant who resides there comes out to greet you gallantly, inviting you to taste the excellent wines and exquisite delicacies…

And while we’re at it, some cookies with a sweet wine, a house tradition since time immemorial…

Our tavern retains the typical characteristics of any old tavern. It has red doors, which in times past were a symbol inviting visitors to come in and consume only wine. Today, it’s an ideal place for lunch or simply tapas in the center of Madrid.
