The Ancient King of Wines follows the traditions of Madrid taverns: a red facade and brightly colored tiles.

As traditional as any other, the tavern continues to be, over the years, a pleasant place to stay. Within its walls and on its beautiful terrace—from which you can appreciate a magnificent view of the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace—you can enjoy a succulent culinary offering.

The tavern, expanded in 2005, has a lounge with capacity for 30 people, open from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to midnight. There is also a bar area where you can enjoy tapas or more substantial dishes from 10 a.m. to midnight, without interruption.

The terrace also has continuous kitchen hours from 10 a.m. to midnight.

The Ancient King of Wines has Tuesday as a day of rest (except public holidays on Tuesdays) and is closed for vacation during the month of February. Its opening hours are very long, so it’s easy to end up at the Ancient King of Wines: on Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun it remains open from 10am until 1am, with these hours being extended by one hour (until 2am) every Friday, Saturday and on the eve of summer holidays.
