It is the classical tavern in Madrid with bright and colourful glazed tiles, with high ceilings and columns and a red facade. The large mirror placed in the premises has been there since its opening when Luis Montón bought it for 3500 reales from the owners of a decaying tavern on Trafalgar Street. In 2005 some improvements were made and the old bar was replaced by a new marble one and a cosy dining room to serve lunches and dinners was opened.

El Anciano Rey de los vinos is the ideal choice for any day. The ample terrace – open from March to October – with views to the Almudena Cathedral and Royal Palace makes this tavern the most inspiring place to enjoy the good weather in Madrid.

The terrace and the bar are open from 10:00 to 24:00.

The inside restaurant is ideal for different types of celebrations and we offer special menus for businesses and individuals.

The informal ambience makes it perfect to go with children.

The restaurant is open from 13:30 to 16:00 and from 21:00 to 24:00.
